The New York Jets will be the focus of a new docuseries on Prime Video, which was announced on Monday ahead of Amazon’s presentation to advertisers.
Titled “The Home Team: NY Jets,” this six-part series will provide an inside look at six players and their families throughout the 2024-2025 NFL season.
Among the players featured are Quinnen and Maranda Williams, and Alijah and Jessie Vera-Tucker. The show aims to explore their emotional journeys and offer an authentic glimpse into the lives of these athletes and their families as they navigate a demanding 17-week NFL season.
According to Amazon, the series will take viewers through various aspects of their lives, from work commitments and baby showers to family gatherings, highlighting how these families support their football careers.
For this docuseries, Prime Video has teamed up with Skydance, NFL Films, and vaynerwatt.
A release date for the series hasn’t been specified yet.
This behind-the-scenes look will allow Jets fans to reflect on a tumultuous season filled with drama surrounding Aaron Rodgers, particularly during a year that didn’t go as expected and amid significant coaching changes.
Despite hopes for improvement, the Jets finished the season with a disappointing 5-12 record, leading to a complete organizational overhaul.
The Jets also previously participated in HBO’s “Hard Knocks” before the 2023 season but had been producing their own series titled “One Jets Drive.”
In addition to the Jets, Amazon is developing another docuseries centered on former receiver Terrell Owens, exploring his significant yet often controversial impact as one of the most talented wide receivers in American sports history.
Prime Video is expanding its sports programming footprint, which began with the “Thursday Night Football” broadcasts and will include NBA coverage in the upcoming season.
