Jets Draft Position Update

The Jets have moved up one position in the draft order, but their chances of snagging the No. 1 pick are pretty slim.

After suffering a heavy 42-10 defeat against the Patriots, coupled with an unexpected Browns win over the Steelers, the Jets shifted from fourth to third in the draft rankings. However, they still trail behind the Giants and the Raiders, according to NFL Tankerson.

Speaking of the Raiders, they took a hit with a 34-10 loss to the Giants, which puts them in the top draft spot. Like the Jets, they are also in search of a quarterback. Even if they end up with the number one pick, it seems doubtful they’ll trade it away.

The Jets and Giants are both sitting at 3-13. However, the Giants benefit from a weaker schedule (.531) compared to the Jets (.548).

Next Sunday at MetLife Stadium, the Giants might have a shot at beating the Cowboys, who have already been eliminated from the playoffs. Interestingly, even if the Jets lose to the Bills, there’s still a possibility they could jump to the No. 2 spot.

Getting the top pick isn’t out of reach for the Jets, but they’d need a few favorable outcomes to tilt in their favor against the Chiefs. Currently, the Raiders manage a better schedule than the Jets at .544, having won two games.

Quarterback Brady Cook had another challenging outing, throwing an interception and failing to pass for a touchdown in two consecutive games. He now has eight interceptions over the last few games, which is unfortunately less than ideal.

In a moment of reflection, Cook mentioned how tough it was to only have about 20 plays in the first half of the game. He emphasized the necessity of sustaining drives, highlighting that ultimately, it’s all about scoring points.

There was a brief scuffle between Jets rookie offensive tackle Armando Menbou and Patriots defensive tackle Christian Barmore late in the first half, although Menbou chose not to comment on the incident.

Injury reports indicate that cornerback Quantez Stigers (knee), running backs Isaiah Davis (concussion) and Breece Hall (knee), along with offensive guard John Simpson (knee), are sidelined. Hall, however, feels his injury isn’t serious and doesn’t anticipate needing any additional tests.
