Jets snag tight end Stone Smartt in NFL free agency

The Jets added a tight end on Thursday and agreed to a deal with free agent Stone Smart.

The 26-year-old has spent the past three seasons with the Chargers.

Last season he had 16 catches for 208 yards and no touchdowns.

The Jets have last year's starter Tyler Conklin, still available at a free agency, thinning it on the tight end.

Additionally, the Jets re-signed linebacker Jamin Davis.

Davis, the first round manager of 2021, joined the Jets at the end of last season but did not play for them.

He played nine games between Washington and the Vikings last year, but didn't start anything.

They also added defensive tackle Byron Cowart, who spent the last season with the Bears.

He had 2.5 bags in 15 games.

The 28-year-old was originally the Patriot's fifth pick in 2019.
