A Californian lesbian who happens to be Jewish says she's been shunned by friends in the LGBTQ+ community because she voted for Donald Trump, who supports Israel in the war on terror.
Local Fox affiliate station KTTV-11 reported:
“I definitely feel like I'm on an island all by myself,” said Tanya Tsikanowski, who lives in Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley. “Queer people have turned their backs on me, and I'm queer too, so it's really hard.”
Tsikanowski said she worked with Hillary Clinton's campaign in Iowa in 2016 and voted for Joe Biden in 2020.
…
Tsikanovsky said he turned to Trump for economic reasons and, beyond the U.S. southern border, because of his Jewish faith. Tsikanovsky said recent pro-Palestinian protests on college campuses have changed his mind about the Democratic Party.
Tsikanowski told FOX 11 that he may have ostracized friends who supported Trump in the past, but now he regrets it.
Now, she says, her “LGBTQ basketball team” has started “boxing” her, or preventing her from handling the ball.
Israel is the only country in the Middle East that protects LGBTQ+ people and their rights. However, pro-Palestinian movements in the West are calling for Israelis, Jews, and pro-Israel people to be expelled from LGBTQ+ groups.
Recently, one global LGBTQ+ organization even suspended its Israeli chapter for simply offering to host a conference.
