Jill Biden gets testy when CBS anchor confronts her over Joe’s dismal polling: ‘Losing in all the battleground states’

First lady Jill Biden expressed frustration Wednesday with the CBS anchor’s choice to confront her about her husband’s poor poll numbers.

After a “CBS Mornings” segment featuring National Teacher of the Year winners, Biden briefly mentioned his 2024 campaign. She took a short-sighted view of the upcoming election, telling voters that the choice was between “chaos,” referring to Donald Trump, or “stability, wisdom, and experience” referring to her husband, while also saying that President Biden He confidently predicted that he would be re-elected. .

But CBS anchor Tony Dokoupil didn’t buy it.

“But when the results of polls like those from the Wall Street Journal reach the White House, [Biden’s] We’re losing in every battleground state…” he said before Jill could interrupt him.

“No, he hasn’t lost in a battleground state,” Jill interjected.

“All but one,” Dokoupil confirmed.

“He’s coming up,” Jill continued, “and he’s doing even or better. So, you know what? Once people start paying attention and they realize their two options… It’s clear that Joe will win this election.”

of As revealed by the latest WSJ poll Other polls in key battleground states show that President Trump is winning six of the seven states critical to winning the White House — at least for now.

The only state where Trump doesn’t have an outright lead is Wisconsin, where he and Biden are tied.

Poll results:

  • Arizona:playing cards (47%) vs. Biden (42%)
  • Georgia: playing cards (44%) vs. Biden (44%)
  • Michigan:playing cards (48%) vs. Biden (45%)
  • Nevada: playing cards (48%) vs. Biden (44%)
  • North Carolina:playing cards (49%) vs. Biden (43%)
  • Pennsylvania: playing cards (47%) vs. Biden (44%)
  • Wisconsin: Trump (46%) vs. Biden (46%)

So it’s unclear why Jill Biden denied that President Biden is losing in the polls. Maybe she didn’t know about the Wall Street Journal poll. On the other hand, Biden’s dismal polling is not a new phenomenon. Rather, it characterizes the entire 2024 contest so far.

The reason polls in battleground states attract so much attention is because Biden won six of those seven states in 2020, losing only North Carolina to Trump.

That means whoever wins the biggest share in those states in November is likely to win. Therefore, losing them is not a winning strategy.
