Market Recap: Thursday Highlights

The S&P 500 experienced a decline on Thursday due to rising tensions between the US and Iran. Jim Cramer noted that this market downturn could indicate that some traders are looking to lessen their stock exposure as the weekend approaches. Additionally, worries about potential supply disruptions from Iran, an OPEC member, have caused oil prices to spike.

CrowdStrike, however, stood out among the club’s stocks, climbing approximately 1%. Despite this, it remains down about 10% year-to-date. Jim mentioned that increasing security risks related to AI adoption are significantly impacting CrowdStrike’s operations. “This is the first thing I buy,” he stated, emphasizing the company’s strengthening business.

Texas Roadhouse, the club’s steakhouse chain, is set to disclose its quarterly earnings soon. Jim anticipates solid same-store sales, yet he expresses concern over reduced profit margins due to increased beef prices. Management has already indicated a 7% commodity inflation forecast for 2026. Should this figure rise, it could negatively affect the club’s portfolio. Notably, they halved their positions in Texas Roadhouse on Wednesday ahead of the earnings report, marking their third sale this year.

Meanwhile, Boeing’s stock didn’t see further gains despite announcing a deal to sell around 100 planes to a Vietnamese airline. Jim remains “steadfast” in his belief in the company’s turnaround strategy under CEO Kelly Ortberg. On Thursday’s video, he also highlighted Walmart, DoorDash, Carvana, Molson Coors, and Dell among others.
