Jimmy Kimmel responds to Donald Trump's complaints about the return of his ABC show

Kimmel’s Return Sparks Trump Mockery

During a recent episode, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel took a shot at President Donald Trump, poking fun at the president’s irritation with the return of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” On Wednesday, Kimmel quipped, “I can’t believe we’ve returned your work.”

Referencing a comment Trump made, Kimmel relayed, “Madred Hatter wrote, ‘I can’t believe ABC Fake News gave Jimmy Kimmel his job.’ Can’t believe they gave me my job back? I can’t believe we gave you your job back!”

Kimmel continued to read Trump’s remarks, which criticized the network for allegedly promoting biased content. “Why do they want people to risk their networks by playing 99% positive Democrat trash that is poor, not funny, and endangered?”

In a somewhat humorous tone, Kimmel added, “Listen? There’s a threat again! This time it’s straight from the mouth of FC-Seabiscuit! Only Donald Trump would be trying to prove he’s not threatening ABC by threatening ABC.”

Young Conservatives Weigh In

Some young conservatives believe Kimmel is now facing a consequence that doesn’t fit the narrative of cancel culture following ABC’s suspension of the show.

Kimmel also spoke regarding a recent incident involving Charlie Kirk, noting that he didn’t apologize directly. Instead, he emphasized his intention to avoid scapegoating specific groups for the actions of individuals. “I understand that I may not have timed it well,” he admitted, expressing genuine emotion over the controversy.

The host made sure to acknowledge Kirk’s widow, expressing admiration for her grace. “If you believe in Jesus’ teachings, then the selfless act of grace and forgiveness from the grieving widow really touched me,” he said.

Trump’s Poll Numbers Targeted

In response to Trump’s latest poll numbers, Kimmel poked fun at the former president, who had described Kimmel’s critiques as corrupting. “He knows bad reviews. He has some of the worst reviews the president has ever had!” Kimmel pointedly remarked.

Meanwhile, Nexstar Media Group and Sinclair Broadcast Group issued a statement confirming they would continue to oversee “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” for now. The statement mentioned they are evaluating the show’s status in light of their ABC-affiliated stations, while engaging in discussions with Disney to ensure the program meets community standards.
