Jimmy Kimmel Spotted After Show Cancellation
Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel was seen out in public for the first time on Thursday following the decision by ABC to cancel “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
Kimmel was noticed leaving a car at an office building in Los Angeles, situated near Santa Monica Boulevard and Beverly Hills. It’s unclear what his destination was, as the building houses various businesses, including a law firm.
Footage from Fox News Digital showed several mobile trucks and forklifts at the studio parking lot for “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” The crew appeared to be loading items and equipment underneath a tent, though it’s uncertain if these trucks were specifically for Kimmel’s show.
Attempts to reach Kimmel’s representatives, as well as officials from Disney and ABC, for clarification on whether the trucks were linked to the cancellation went unanswered.
Reactions to Kimmel’s Cancellation
Amid the show’s cancellation, some Hollywood celebrities expressed shock, while others shared mixed reactions. The news seemed to be welcomed by the Trump administration, with President Donald Trump stating that Kimmel was let go due to a “lack of talent.” Despite this, FCC Chairman Brendan Kerr issued threats to ABC and Disney, suggesting they should handle the situation differently.
Contrarily, many liberals viewed this as yet another example of the Trump administration’s efforts to limit free speech.
Kimmel’s viewership has declined over the past decade, dropping to an average of 1.6 million in 2025, which marks a significant decrease from 2015. In comparison, Fox News’ “Gutfeld!” has seen a rise, averaging around 3.2 million viewers.
This shift in late-night ratings brings attention to the changing dynamics of television, reflecting the different reactions audiences have to various hosts.
