JJ Watt raises concern about the 'unrecognizable' Ravens defense as Texans dominate

Ravens’ Defense Under Fire After Poor Performance

The situation for the Ravens hasn’t been promising, and former NFL standout JJ Watt didn’t hold back in critiquing Baltimore’s defense after they fell behind 30-3 in the third quarter. His comments came following Nick Chubb’s impressive 27-yard touchdown run, which highlighted the struggles of the Ravens’ defenders in a tough moment.

“This is not the caliber of Baltimore Ravens defense we’ve come to expect,” Watt remarked before continuing his analysis. “It feels different, almost off,” he added, reflecting the disappointment many fans might share.

After their recent defeat, the Ravens now sit at 1-4 for the 2025 season, with a significant 44-10 loss to the Texans amplifying concerns about their performance.

Throughout the first four weeks, they have allowed 16 touchdowns, tying them with the Cowboys for the most in the league. Additionally, averaging 141.3 rushing yards and allowing a staggering 33.3 points per game, the defense has struggled significantly, ranking as among the worst.

The latest loss shines a harsh light on the defense, especially after the team has now experienced three consecutive defeats. However, Coach John Harbaugh dismissed any notions of firing defensive coordinator Zach Oh, suggesting a commitment to improving rather than making drastic changes.

“You want to make the best decisions, but I don’t believe that’s the solution,” he told reporters, emphasizing the need for unity and focus moving forward. “We have to dig deep and find ourselves, and that involves both the coaching staff and the players.” This season is proving to be challenging for the Ravens, especially with the recent loss of quarterback Lamar Jackson impacting their overall strategy.
