Discussion on Wage Benefits and Inflation
On the recent “Alex Marlow Show,” host Alex Marlow engaged with John Carney, Breitbart’s Economics editor, regarding the impacts of inflation on wage benefits.
Marlow highlighted, “There are some troubling aspects under the Biden administration, where there’s a lot of talk about creating jobs—like, say, 200,000 or 150,000 jobs—and people celebrate that.” He added that, “Donald Trump managed to turn that around, and now, this year’s employment gains benefit Americans.”
Carney pointed out that, “When considering the total number of jobs gained and lost, the net increase is going to Americans. In contrast, during the Biden administration, the monthly employment rate for Americans is declining while employment for foreigners seems to be rising.”
He emphasized, “This trend is particularly interesting because it’s not just benefiting legal residents or those born in America; it seems to be favoring actual American-born citizens. This is a crucial point. There’s a belief in the wage growth narrative that new workers can simply be added to the market, which contradicts the tendency for inflation to consistently outpace wage increases.”
