Recently, it was reported that Joe Alwyn reached out to express his best wishes to his ex-girlfriend following her engagement to Travis Kelce.
However, a source shared with the Daily Mail that Alwyn, 34, hopes Swift is doing well but isn’t particularly invested in her life anymore. “I really hope she’s in a good place and doing well,” the insider mentioned.
Moreover, the insider added that he doesn’t feel compelled to reconnect and prefers not to hear from him, indicating that his thoughts about Swift have diminished, especially with the news of Kelce’s engagement. “He’s not thinking about her consistently anymore,” the source said, calling Kelce’s engagement “the last nail of every thought.”
Representatives for both Alwyn and Swift did not respond to requests for comments.
The two dated from 2016 before their split in 2023. Swift briefly explored a relationship with Matty Healy from The 1975 earlier in 2023.
She began dating Travis Kelce later that summer, sparked by some playful comments made on his podcast, “New Heights.”
Earlier this month, Kelce proposed, and the couple shared moments of their engagement on Instagram with the playful caption, “Your English teacher and gym teacher are married.” They were seen celebrating together at a game at Arrowhead Stadium shortly thereafter.
Meanwhile, Alwyn was spotted in London shortly after the engagement, keeping it casual in a blue striped sweater and jeans. In an interview with The Guardian earlier this year, he spoke about his breakup, noting he focused on what he could control, such as family and work, and not dwelling on any negativity from past relationships.
