President Joe Biden insisted Sunday at the Democratic National Committee's holiday reception in Washington, D.C., that the country is better off now than it was in 2021.
Under Biden's “Bidenomics” plan, inflation soared, gas prices soared, credit card debt soared and housing costs soared.

“One of the things I've always believed about public service, especially the presidency, is the importance of asking ourselves, 'Did we leave this country in better shape than we started it with?'” Biden said. said group.

Biden touted legislation passed on his direction, including the Inflation Control Act, and urged his audience to “keep the faith.”
“Many of the laws we passed have significant implications and will not go into effect immediately,” Biden said.
“Never giving up and keeping the faith is the way forward. To know that what we're doing matters. I know I'm going to stay engaged. Kamala, Jill and Doug too. You will, and so will you. We need you very much. The country needs you dearly,” he continued.
Many political experts attribute Democrats' losses in the House, Senate and White House to the Biden economy, which was a top issue in the 2024 election cycle.
President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to restore the economy if re-elected. He won a landslide victory, moving 48 states to the right.
“I think there are very good days ahead. There will be a lot of incentives,” Trump said Thursday on the New York Stock Exchange.
