President Joe Biden suggested he could accept losing to Donald Trump as long as he “does his best” during an interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos on Friday night.
During the interview, Stephanopoulos said Said Biden said he has “never seen a president with a 36 percent approval rating get re-elected.” Stephanopoulos pressed Biden on how he would feel if he continued to campaign and Trump won.
“Mr. President, I believe that the President [with] “I’m going to be re-elected with 36% of the vote,” Stephanopoulos said. Said Biden.
Biden told Stephanopoulos he doesn’t believe his approval rating is anywhere near that level.
“If you stay in office and Trump wins and all of the things you’re warning about come true, how will you feel in January?” Stephanopoulos asked Biden.
Biden: “If Trump wins in November, I’ll feel like I gave it my all and did the best job I could.”

“As long as I’ve done my best and done the best job I could, I’ll be satisfied. That’s what this is about,” Biden responded. “Look, George, look at it this way. I’ve said it before: America and the world are at a turning point, and the events that happen over the next few years will determine what the next 60, 70 years will look like.”
Instead of “best” the word “best” The grammar is incorrectMany English speakers use this expression sarcastically. Humorous effectBiden didn’t seem to realize he was making a mistake.
Many people quickly took to social media to point out that Biden had used the word “best,” while others claimed they heard him say something entirely different.

“You hear the phrase, ‘The best job I know I can do,’ which is also not very good English, but it’s a little off,” says Frank J. Fleming, an applied AI consultant at The Daily Wire. I have written In a post.
What I hear is “to the best of my knowledge I can do a good job,” which is also not very good English, but it’s a bit off. https://t.co/nuvR8XdUh2

Biden’s interview with Stephanopoulos came a week after he participated in a presidential debate with former President Donald Trump, sending many Democrats, donors and voters into a state of panic, wondering whether Biden would be able to serve another term.
Biden continues to face calls from donors and Democrats to drop out of the presidential race, but he and his campaign insist he has no plans to drop out.
Editor’s note: When this article was originally published, it erroneously claimed that President Joe Biden “invented” the word “goodest,” a word that has been used, at least in English-speaking cultures. 1800sIn this case, Biden was unaware of the grammar error, but he’s not the first to utter the phrase.
