President Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID-19 and canceled a speech he was scheduled to give in Las Vegas, Nevada on Wednesday night.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre issued A statement confirming that Biden has tested positive for coronavirus. It was planned Speaking at the UnidosUS Annual Conference.
According to the conference’s website, the conference is “one of the largest gatherings of Latinx people and their allies committed to increasing opportunity and advancing social justice in the Latinx community.”
“Earlier today, following his first event in Las Vegas, President Biden tested positive for COVID-19,” the statement said. “The President has received his vaccination and booster dose and is experiencing mild symptoms. The President has returned to Delaware and is self-isolating while continuing to perform his full duties.”

“While he was feeling well at the first event that day, he did not continue to feel better, so he underwent laboratory testing for COVID-19, which came back positive for the COVID-19 virus,” Biden’s physician said in a press release.
The statement added that the White House will continue to “provide regular updates” on Biden’s condition as he continues to fulfill his duties while in quarantine.
Biden’s positive result comes weeks after Vice President Kamala Harris’ husband, Doug Emhoff, reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.
