Joe Exotic’s husband sent back to Mexico after being released from prison

Joe Exotic’s Husband Deported to Mexico

Joe Exotic’s husband, Jorge Marquez Flores, has been deported back to Mexico following his release from a Texas prison.

According to a TMZ source, Flores, who is 33, was moved to an immigration detention facility almost immediately after his release. The news of his deportation came just a day after Joe Exotic announced on social media that Flores had been taken to an immigration hearing to assess whether he could stay in the U.S. or would be sent back to Mexico. “I’ve never been more proud of anyone. Meet my husband, Jorge Flores Maldonado,” Exotic tweeted earlier this year after their wedding behind bars in April. The couple got engaged in October 2024, and Joe often shares posts about their relationship online.

Flores had faced jail time due to immigration-related offenses. Joe Exotic, whose real name is Joseph Maldonado, is currently serving a 21-year sentence for his involvement in a plot against animal rights activist Carol Baskin, along with multiple wildlife violations.

Exotic had previously voiced worries about Flores’ immigration status, claiming that despite their attempts to seek asylum in the U.S., those efforts seem to have failed, leading to Flores’ deportation.

In past interviews and social media updates, Joe hinted at plans for them to leave the U.S. for good. The “Tiger King” series, which became a cultural phenomenon during the COVID-19 pandemic, showcased a mix of bizarre stories involving big cats, crime, and tumultuous relationships. This latest chapter in Joe’s life adds another layer to a story that’s been hard to ignore.

As of now, Joe Exotic has not provided any further comments regarding Flores’ deportation.
