Aaron Rodgers has Broadway Joe supporters.
Legendary former Jets quarterback Joe Namath supported the current QB, saying he would “look forward” to returning to the Jets next season “if that's what he wants.”
The vote of confidence comes amid uncertainty over Rodgers' future with the Jets, or for that matter, the NFL.
After the Jets' disastrous season ended with a win over the Dolphins on Sunday, there has been speculation about whether and if he will play again next season.
But Namath, who led the Jets to their only Super Bowl victory, saw a player who could have another year of success in the NFL after Rodgers' 276-yard, four-touchdown performance in the season finale against the Dolphins. Ta.
“After seeing [Rodgers] If he plays today, he definitely has at least another year left.” Namath posted to X. “So if he wants to, I would love to see him stay with the Jets. He could not only play ball, but he could definitely help the new GM and coach. He still throws with accuracy and authority.”
Jets running back Breece Hall retweeted Namath's post.
The four touchdown passes are a season high for Rodgers, who is completing his second year as a Jet, and his first in multiple series after being injured on the team's opening drive in his debut last year. It was.
But performances like the one seen Sunday are somewhat rare for Rodgers this season, and the 41-year-old acknowledged earlier this week that his time with the Jets may be coming to an end. I admitted that.
The Jets are expected to hire a new general manager and new head coach this offseason, and a fresh start could include a new starting quarterback.
That is unless Rodgers decides to retire after this season.
Rodgers was asked about his future after Sunday's game.

“Honestly, I don't know. I'm looking forward to the conversation with Woody and Christopher. [Johnson]'' said Mr. Rogers. “I'm glad that in the last five or six weeks I've been able to do some of the things that I knew I could do even at 40, 41 years old. Either way, I don't get upset or angry no matter what they do. If they want to move on, if I still want to play, if not, I'll let them know at some point. ”
Rodgers told reporters that if he decides he still wants to play and the Jets want to move on from him, “the answer is yes” to playing for another team in the NFL.
