After Mike Tyson's lackluster performance against Jake Paul on Friday night, Joe Rogan brings the truth to the surface and isn't known for being true to form, but Rogan made it true I continued to keep it.
Tyson, 58, looked fine in the first two rounds, but his legs began to fail as Paul's constant movement and blows began to take their toll. Tyson more than survived the fight, lasting all eight two-minute rounds. However, after the match, Paul admitted that he did not intentionally knock out Tyson.
Before the match, Logan gave X his hopeful thoughts ahead of the match.
“I'm getting ready to watch this fight against Tyson.” jake paul I fight like I'm watching someone cast a spell that they hope will actually work. And I don't really believe in magic. But I want to believe it. ”
After the uninspiring clash, Logan posted, “Magic isn't real.”
The judges scored the fight 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73 for Paul.
When asked if he restrained himself from giving Tyson maximum punishment, Paul answered candidly.
“Yeah, sure. A little bit for sure. I wanted to give the fans a show, but I didn't want to hurt anyone who didn't need to be hurt.”
Paul's respect for Tyson was also evident at the end of the match, as he bowed to the boxing legend.
As for the fans, you might have heard some boos at the end. Fans watching at home also spoke out in response to widespread buffering issues that plagued the match.
The battle was the culmination of a nearly two-year process. Tyson and Paul were originally scheduled to fight on July 20th at AT&T Stadium. However, that fight date was postponed because Tyson was having ulcer-related issues.
With this loss, Tyson improved to 50 wins and 7 losses, while Paul improved to 11 wins and 1 loss.
