Podcast Guest Charged with Murder After Appearance

Joe Rogan shared a shocking revelation recently: a former guest on his podcast is now accused of murder, just a month after appearing on the show.

During the latest episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Rogan reflected on his conversation with Sheldon Johnson from 2024, while discussing the topic of sociopathy with Dr. Zach Bush.

Johnson, who has a criminal past and presented himself as an advocate for criminal justice reform, was arrested in the spring of 2024. He is suspected of fatally shooting Colin Small in his New York City apartment, dismembering the body, and disposing of the remains at multiple locations. He faces charges of second-degree murder.

When police responded to the scene, they initially discovered Small’s headless torso. Other body parts were reportedly located in Johnson’s Harlem apartment, including a severed leg found in a plastic box.

Rogan recounted a chilling detail: “After the podcast, there was a guy in the studio who decapitated a guy. He killed the guy and cut off his head,” he mentioned. “It’s like putting on a wig and trying to escape into the hallway on camera.”

At that time, Johnson had recently appeared on another podcast with Josh Dubin, a civil rights attorney who advocates for those wrongfully convicted. Johnson had been freed in 2019 after serving time for a series of armed robberies committed in 1999.

Before the incident, Johnson was working as a public defender in Queens. Reports indicate that a man could be heard pleading for mercy before two gunshots rang out where Johnson was seen entering and exiting in various disguises.

Interestingly, both Johnson and Small had prior prison sentences, yet the specifics of their relationship remain vague.

In a prior discussion on Rogan’s show, Johnson expressed his desire to change his life. “I said to myself, ‘I’ve been doing bad things for a long time. I’m going to do something good,'” he stated.
