Joe Rogan Reports Influencer Threat
Joe Rogan recently informed police that he considers the fitness influencer known as “Live King,” whose real name is Brian Johnson, to be “remarkably unstable,” following an online threat made towards him.
Detectives from the Austin Police Department became aware of Johnson after noticing a series of videos he posted on Instagram. They discovered that the 47-year-old had traveled to Austin, which has been home to Rogan since he left California in 2020.
Rogan shared with law enforcement that he had no direct interaction with Johnson and found the posts threatening. He mentioned being unaware that the influencer was targeting him and expressed concern about Johnson’s apparent struggles with a serious drug issue.
Rogan, 57, added that Johnson seems “significantly more unstable” and suggested he might need help. Officers apprehended Johnson after they found him at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin around 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
In 2022, Johnson admitted to spending $11,000 a month on steroids to maintain his muscular physique. He was taken to Travis County Jail and charged with a Class B misdemeanor for making a terroristic threat.
In his mug shots, Johnson appeared to have a distorted expression, with little emotion visible. After posting a $20,000 bond, he was instructed not to contact Rogan or anyone in his family, and he’s required to undergo a mental health evaluation within a week of his release. Records indicate that he does not own a firearm.
While “The Joe Rogan Experience” has not featured Johnson as a guest, he has been a topic of discussion, particularly concerning performance-enhancing drugs. On Monday, Johnson made a provocative shirtless video rant, challenging Rogan to an “honorable” fight while donned in furry headgear and holding what appeared to be guns.
“Joe Rogan, I’m calling you out. My name is King of the Liver. Man to man, I want to fight you,” he declared. He acknowledged Rogan’s black belt in jiu-jitsu, stating, “You should dismantle me. But I still want to fight you. Your rules, I’m ready.” Johnson repeated his challenge, claiming to come from a “fighting family” and urging Rogan to engage with him.
Johnson’s rant continued on Instagram, where he filmed himself being arrested by police, and after his release, he referred to Rogan as “someone,” mentioning his comedic club, “Mothership.” As of now, Rogan has not publicly addressed Johnson’s arrest or ongoing challenges.
