Texas Senate Candidate Faces Criticism Amid Insults
James Talarico, a Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in Texas, is facing significant backlash from conservatives. Interestingly, despite identifying as a devout Christian, his progressive views on key issues have prompted Republican opponent Ken Paxton and others to humorously nickname him “Taraflareco.”
In a twist, pro-abortion and pro-trans activists attempted to capitalize on this jab by creating T-shirts featuring “I’m *TaraFreco*” for a price of $36.
Sarah Gonzalez from BlazeTV reacted, “I was left wondering, ‘Who would actually want that?’ But then, it turns out there are buyers.”
Gonzalez recently showcased a clip of Talarico appearing on “Morning Joe” with hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.
Scarborough joked about the nickname, saying, “By the way, my nickname is Tarafreaco, but I support that.” Talarico took the moment to mention that the T-shirts could be purchased online.
Brzezinski even offered, “I’ll buy it for you,” while gesturing toward her husband.
Gonzalez expressed amusement at Scarborough’s apparent contradiction, noting that while he claims objectivity, he often aligns himself with progressive voices.
As for Talarico, she observed that his frantic demeanor suggested he was in “damage control.” She remarked, “The bizarre and troubling things he says definitely come back to haunt him. You can’t just brush it off by saying, ‘Oh, I’ve made some questionable remarks in the past.’”
Unfortunately for Talarico, criticism continues to mount.
One recent clip featured Texas Democrats arguing against a proposed border wall. Talarico criticized the expenditure, stating, “We can stop spending billions taxpayer dollars on an unnecessary wall in one of Texas’ most cherished areas, the Big Bend.”
In response, Gonzalez scoffed, “Just let them in. They’re newcomers looking for a better life. I tried that once and it was a complete disaster.”
