It appears that former Yankees bust Joey Gallo has finally found a home.
Gallo, 31, agreed to the terms of his minor league contract with the White Sox on Thursday, and the team expanded his invitation to him for non-roster spring training.
First-Baseman/Outfielder played for the Nationals last season, but refused to end his $8 million mutual selection on Gallo's contract and sent him to a free agent.
Gallo spent most of his time on a base, hitting just .161 with 10 home runs for the Nationals at .613 OPS in 2024, with just .161.
The 31-year-old showed promise early in his career with the Rangers, recording 40 consecutive home runs seasons in 2017-18, winning two All-Star nods and one gold gloves during his seven-year tenure. I did. Texas.
The former Rangers star has not been able to find his journey since being treated by the Yankees in the blockbuster trade ahead of the 2021 deadline.
During his tenure in the Bronx, Gallo posted a terrible .159/.291/.368 slashline with 25 home runs in 140 games.
He was unable to post a percentage of bases above .301 for each of the last three seasons.
Signing with the White Sox, Gallo is expected to compete with Andrew Vaughn and Ibase.
Vaughn, 26, is in a down year with Chicago, posting his career worst batting average and base percentage.
Returning to the outfield could be another possibility that the White Sox, who are away from their 121 season, weren't scheduled for the right field.
