The Expansive World of Professional Wrestling
Professional wrestling is such a vast universe that it’s virtually impossible to take it all in. Major organizations like WWE and All Elite Wrestling (AEW) present up to four shows each week. There’s also Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) airing on Thursdays and Major League Wrestling (MLW) showcasing its flagship program on YouTube every Saturday. And that’s not even touching on the countless international and independent events that streamed throughout the week.
In a recent chat with Fox News Digital, WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield highlighted some wrestlers who could really capture fans’ attention. He pointed out, “I saw ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey in AEW, and he really impressed me. The same goes for Josh Alexander. There’s also this guy in Texas named Will Allday, who does independent shows. Every time he enters the arena, the crowd goes wild. As far as I know, he’s never been on television before. There’s a wealth of young talent out there.”
Speaking on behalf of his partnership with BZZR, Bradshaw emphasized the sheer amount of talent in the wrestling circuit today, contrasting it with the landscape during his heyday.
“I’ve never seen so much talent in wrestling before. The Attitude Era and WCW had solid rosters, but the independents were a mixed bag,” he reflected. “You go to these independent shows now, and they’re impressive. I think it’s a result of better training and more wrestling schools available. The depth and quality of talent currently in the wrestling scene are truly remarkable.”
Despite the intense competition among major promotions, it’s evident that wrestlers—both men and women—are making waves, even outside of the top-tier organizations.
