On Friday's “Alex Marlow Show,” Breitbart News Economics editor John Carney discussed the conversation with Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent.
Carney said: “He really focuses on making sure banks can lend to small businesses, and community banks are free from the burden they have. …By the way, we lost track of basic safety and prudential regulations. So Silicon Valley Bank failed, partly because regulators were distracted by climate change and paying attention to DEI's stuff. So, he said we're going to refocus the safety and prudential regulations. … And we're going to make sure that capital requirements are not punitive for American innovation and lending to American businesses.”
