John Harbaugh’s Extensive Meeting with Giants Quarterback

John Harbaugh’s discussion with his new quarterback lasted quite a while, not exactly a quick chat.

As noted by ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky, reports indicate that Harbaugh and Giants QB Jackson Dart had a “one-on-one for two hours” during the coach’s sole visit to the team’s facility. It seems Dart is settling in quite well.

The Giants made significant efforts to impress Harbaugh on Wednesday, but he recently concluded an 18-year stint with the Ravens amid a notable coaching shake-up.

Alongside meeting with Dart, last year’s 25th overall draft pick, Harbaugh enjoyed a meal with Giants GM Joe Schoen at a local Mediterranean eatery before heading back to Baltimore. As the evening progressed, the two sides began to work towards an agreement, according to Paul Schwartz.

No formal contract had been announced by Thursday afternoon.

Update on John Harbaugh’s Potential Hiring by the Giants

Jackson Dart, who is 22, is coming off a solid rookie season, throwing 15 touchdowns and five interceptions while adding nine rushing touchdowns over 14 games.

This Ole Miss alum is a key figure in a young offensive lineup that includes standout wide receiver Malik Nabors and running back Cam Skatebo, who has seen breakout performances.

The Giants faced a tumultuous 2025 season marked by injuries and late-game losses, resulting in the dismissal of head coach Brian Daboll midway through year four.

Over the last two years, the team’s record stands at 7-27, so, clearly, changes are needed.

Harbaugh, at 63 years old, seems more than capable of turning things around. There’s already buzz regarding potential coordinator roles under his leadership.

Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken appears to be the frontrunner for a similar position in New York. Additionally, Harbaugh is considering three candidates for defensive coordinator: Jim Leonhardt (Broncos’ defensive pass game coordinator and assistant head coach), Anthony Weaver (Dolphins’ defensive coordinator), and Giants legend Antonio Pierce (former Raiders coach).
