John Leguizamo Calls Out Dean Cain over ICE Agent Plans
Actor John Leguizamo criticized former Superman star Dean Cain after Cain announced on Wednesday his intention to become an Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent during an appearance on Fox News’ Jesse Watters Primetime.
Leguizamo, known for his role in “Moulin Rouge!”, shared a video on his Instagram, expressing disapproval of Cain’s choice to label him as “silly” and stated, “What kind of loser volunteers to become ICE officers? What a ridiculous thing. Dean Cain, I have—I think you’re pronouns.” It’s a strange twist in this ongoing back-and-forth.
In response, Cain seemed taken aback but acknowledged Leguizamo by saying, “He’s a good actor. I like him,” in reaction to a Hollywood Reporter article that covered Leguizamo’s remarks.
Cain became well-known in the 1990s for portraying Clark Kent on the TV series “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.” In a discussion with Fox News Digital, he explained that his motivation for joining ICE echoes his reasoning for entering law enforcement nearly ten years ago.
“Our ICE agents are fantastic,” he asserted. “They represent a cross-section of America. They do their work under the laws passed by Congress, ensuring that those here illegally are dealt with.” He added, “If you’re a legal citizen, there’s nothing to worry about. But if you’re here illegally, that’s already a breach of law.”
Recently, Cain also pointed out some criticisms directed at the adaptation of “Superman,” expressing concerns about the direction in which Hollywood is taking iconic characters. “Why does Disney feel the need to change these characters to fit modern narratives?” he pondered during an interview.
