House Speaker Mike Johnson announced new bathroom policies for the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday in response to controversy surrounding transgender Rep.-elect Sarah McBride (D-Del.).
“All single-sex facilities, including restrooms, locker rooms, and locker rooms in the Capitol and the House Office Building, are reserved for individuals of that biological sex,” Johnson, R-Louisiana, said in a statement obtained by Fox News. “The radical left would rather call me an extremist than admit they're wrong. Mace said she received death threats for offering the first solution and shared a social media video with Company X of a transgender individual threatening to beat her to death.

Mr Johnson initially declined to answer questions on Tuesday about whether Mr McBride was male or female, but later that day he told reporters: “Let me be clear: a man is a man and a woman is a man. “Yes,” he gave a final explanation. And a man cannot become a woman. ”
The speaker added: “We can do and believe in all of these things at the same time because we believe in treating everyone with dignity.”
