Jon Bon Jovi reveals 2026 Forever Tour following recovery from vocal cord surgery

Jon Bon Jovi Announces Comeback Tour After Vocal Surgery

Jon Bon Jovi is set to hit the road again, marking his return to touring after significant surgery on his vocal cords during 2022. This comes as the musician gears up for “The Forever Tour,” which is scheduled to launch in July 2026.

In a recent interview on the “Today” show, the 63-year-old singer shared insights about his recovery journey from a vocal injury that nearly forced him to retire from performing. Bon Jovi explained that he faced a serious issue with his vocal cords, specifically mentioning that one was weakening while the other was suffering compression. “One of my umbilical cords was atrophying and the strong cord was being compressed,” he noted.

The beloved artist emphasized that years of performing had taken a toll on his voice. Fortunately, he found a surgeon experienced in a specialized technique called medialization thyroplasty, which involves adding implants to support weakened vocal cords. “The road was long and difficult, but I persevered well,” Bon Jovi remarked.

Following his surgery, Bon Jovi embarked on a comprehensive recovery plan, dedicating months to rehabilitation and voice exercises. He candidly admitted that there were times he feared he might have already given his last performance. “And then the next day, you see a little glimmer of hope,” he said, highlighting the ups and downs of his journey.

Now, Bon Jovi is fully committed to reclaiming his voice and stamina. He spends hours each day practicing, comparing his preparation to training for a marathon. “Anyone can run, but long-distance running is a different effort,” he explained. It’s not just about being physically prepared; there’s a mental and spiritual readiness involved, too.

Bon Jovi also reflected on what performing means to him. “I do it for the joy and I do it for the art,” he shared. His determination to return to the stage is palpable, as he speaks confidently about performing long sets again, though he understands the importance of being adequately prepared. “I think I can confidently say I can get through two and a half hours every night,” he stated.

The tour kicks off in Madison Square Garden, a venue that’s special to Bon Jovi as it marks a return since their first gig there in 1983. “It’s a garden,” Bon Jovi chuckled, recalling the nostalgia associated with the iconic location.

In addition to touring news, Bon Jovi recently released “Forever (Legendary Edition),” a collaborative album featuring stars like Bruce Springsteen and Avril Lavigne, expressing his enjoyment in hearing other artists reinterpret his work.

As fans eagerly anticipate his return to live performance, Bon Jovi’s upcoming tour from July 7 to September 4, 2026, promises a revival of his musical journey with all the emotion and dedication he brings to his craft.
