It looks like Jon Jones really doesn't want to fight Tom Aspinall.
But everyone has a price to pay.
The 37-year-old, who successfully defended his UFC heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic at The Garden on Saturday night, said he doesn't like Aspinall, who won the interim heavyweight title last year after the original Jones-Miocic fight expired. Jones' chest injury stated.
“He's frustrating to me and that's a personal issue for me. He's frustrating me,” Jones said after Saturday's win over Aspinall, although Aspinall mocked Jones for not facing him. Ta. “I talk to you guys, you guys think it's funny, but I find him annoying, and I don't like him, and at the end of the day, if I let him fight me If you give me a chance, I'm willing to pay for it—and let's be honest, I want “fuck you” money. That's exactly what it is. ”
Jones declined to say exactly how much money he was seeking, but said he would seek a “very high number.”
“I want them to be compensated to the point where it really doesn't matter whether they win or lose,” Jones said.
Dana White said in Thursday's pre-fight press conference that the winner of the Jones vs. Miocic fight should face Aspinall in a title unification bout.
But Jones said his preference would be to face current UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira.
“There's no need. [Aspinall] Absolutely, he needs me and it's a good place to negotiate,'' Jones said.
When White was told on Saturday night that Jones wanted a big payday for his fight with Aspinall, White replied, “That's going to happen.”
Miocic, a 42-year-old former heavyweight champion, said after the fight that he was retiring.
