Jon Rahm’s LIV Golf team draws its name from Ancient Rome, Julius Caesar

Jon Rahm has given the LIV Golf Team a new name.

As the 13th team within the Saudi support circuit, Rahms team is called By Legion XIII, or Legion 13 GC tea time Latest information on LIV golf.

The name comes from Legio XIII Gemina, one of the most important units during Julius Caesar's civil war in ancient Rome in the 1st century BC.

The 13th Legion of Gemina served Gaul (the region that included present-day France, Belgium, Germany, and northern Italy) during Caesar's governorship of Gaul. After his term in Gaul expired, Caesar led legions to Rome to consolidate his power, which included crossing the Rubicon River.

Of course, the phrase “crossing the Rubicon” has become an idiom for “passing the point of no return.”

Once Caesar crossed the Rubicon River in northern Italy, his army quickly captured parts of the area. Caesar and his men eventually descended on Rome and established him as dictator. He gained absolute power in 49 BC and his reign lasted his five years.

However, once Caesar came to power, the Roman Republic around him declined. As a result, a group of senators famously assassinated Caesar in 44 BC, and the republic became an empire within the next few decades.

Nevertheless, Rahm joining LIV Golf changed the course of history, just as Caesar crossed the Rubicon and changed the landscape of professional golf.

Rahm has crossed the point of no return by joining the breakaway league.

Like ancient Rome during the time of Caesar, golf has declined in recent years due to civil war. Perhaps the end of this ongoing saga is near, as the PGA Tour and his LIV Golf beneficiary, the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), continue to negotiate the future structure of professional golf.

However, during that meeting, Rahm jumped ship to LIV.

And the fact that Rahm founded the team under the influence of Caesar is both symbolic and impressive. The Legion XIII metaphor is also accurate. Because Rahm is one of the most important figures in the game of golf right now, what Caesar was to the Roman Republic.
