Jon Stewart talks Kamala Harris admitting defeat to Trump before Congress

“Daily Show” host Jon Stewart denounced the disgusting spectacle of Vice President Kamala Harris reading her defeat to current President Donald Trump in front of cheering members of Congress.

“That hurts. She's like, 'Uh, I can hear you.' Oh my god,” Stewart said at the beginning of Monday’s show. “It's like attending your own funeral, and even the mourners are like, 'Wow!' I can't think of anything more uncomfortable than standing there while the crowd applauds your opponent. .”

Stewart also noted that Monday marked the fourth anniversary of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.

“Of course, the ultimate humiliation of this January 6th is that Kamala Harris, Donald Trump's opponent, is hosting because she was vice president…poor kid,” Stewart said. Ta.

Stewart then played a video of House Democrats cheering and applauding Harris after she read out her presidential vote tally.

“It was louder!” Stewart joked. “There's so much joy in that room! I think she can still win!”

After recognizing Trump as the next president, Harris couldn't help but take a swipe at her opponent.

“Well, today was obviously a very important day and a story about what should be the norm and what the American people should accept as a given. One of the pillars is the peaceful transfer of power.

Mr Harris continued: “And today, I did what I have done throughout my career: I took seriously the oath I have taken many times before to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. Today, that includes ensuring that we fulfill our constitutional obligations.''The American people, the American voters, their votes are counted, their votes matter, and they will determine the outcome of the election. ”

Former Vice President Mike Pence then praised Harris for the difficult task of presiding over her certification of defeat against Trump, calling her “particularly admirable.”
