Colts in Major Shakeup, Wife of Jonathan Taylor Reacts
On Tuesday, the Colts found themselves in the midst of a significant roster overhaul.
With the recent trades, Jonathan Taylor’s wife is left wondering if her husband might be next on the chopping block.
Indianapolis made some bold moves by trading away eight-time Pro Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to the Seahawks and Pro Bowl defensive tackle DeForest Buckner to the 49ers in a bid to acquire draft picks.
In a couple of TikTok videos, Ayanna Taylor expressed her confusion about these changes and how they could affect her husband’s career.
In one brief video, while she was at her hair appointment, she seemed speechless as she covered her mouth in disbelief over the trades. She captioned it: “POV: You’re just tryin to relax at your hair appointment, but Colts players are getting traded left and right and your husband could be next.”
In a later, more extended video, she humorously asked, “Q and now Deforest… should I start packing?!”
Ayanna mentioned that this year had already been a lot to handle after trades involving Zaire Franklin and Michael Pittman in March. She had gotten used to the familiar faces of other wives and families during her husband’s seven years with the Colts. So, with these two latest trades, following the firing of general manager Chris Ballard, she felt a bit unsteady.
“Is literally anybody safe on this team?” she questioned in her TikTok. “I’ve never known the Colts organization without these people, and it feels like rookie year all over again. So, naturally, my mind is spiraling. Is this the start of the trade frenzy? What does this mean for my husband and I? Do I need to start packing our bags? Are we going to be spending our daughter’s first Halloween together? Will we make it to game day, or was last week the last time my husband is putting on a Colts jersey?”
Even with a disappointing 2-5 record, the Colts’ backfield hasn’t been the main issue. Taylor, who was an All-Pro in 2021, currently leads the NFL with eight rushing touchdowns and is fifth in rushing yards overall with 587.
His contract runs through the 2028 season, leaving it uncertain how keen the Colts are on trading one of their key offensive players. Nonetheless, it has been suggested that dealing Taylor could yield the highest return for the team if they do decide to trade him.
The Colts have a deadline until November 10 at 4 p.m. Eastern to make such decisions.
