Jordan Addison Pleads No Contest to DUI Charges

Jordan Addison, the wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings, recently accepted a plea deal regarding charges from a 2024 DUI incident. The young player, 23, was found asleep behind the wheel of a car in California.

Throughout the case, Addison pleaded no contest to a lesser charge known as “wet and reckless,” a term used in California to indicate a misdemeanor involving drugs or alcohol.

His attorney, Jacqueline Sparagna, expressed respect for Addison’s decision, stating, “It would have been a significant trial, but I’m proud of him for taking responsibility and opting for the plea deal. He can now move on and concentrate on his future in the NFL.”

Addison, who was the first-round draft pick in 2023, was discovered by law enforcement while dozing in a white Rolls-Royce. As part of his plea agreement, he will complete two online courses and pay a fine. His probation period is set for 12 months but might be halved if he meets certain conditions. However, he could still be subject to further actions from the NFL regarding this matter.

The NFL has stated that they are keeping an eye on the situation as it develops. Addison was previously reported saying he is ready to accept any penalties the league decides to impose.

Addison shared his commitment to his team, indicating his intent to stay focused during this legal process. He acknowledged that he takes full responsibility for his actions.

In his two seasons with the Vikings, Addison has made a significant impact, with a total of 133 catches, 1,786 yards, and 19 touchdowns.
