Jordan Love Reacts to Teammate’s Arrest
Despite his keen awareness on the field, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love was taken aback by the recent arrest of fellow teammate Josh Jacobs.
Speaking publicly for the first time during Tuesday’s OTAs, Love admitted that the news of Jacobs’ arrest last month caught him off guard.
Jacobs was taken into custody on May 26 following a police response to a domestic disturbance. He is facing serious charges, including felony strangulation and suffocation, along with misdemeanor counts of battery, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, and victim intimidation.
His legal team has firmly denied the allegations, calling for fairness in the process.
Reflecting on the situation, Love expressed his surprise. “There are always questions,” he noted when discussing his immediate reaction. “I was shocked when I saw it.”
Jacobs was released a day later and has since been participating in OTAs while the District Attorney’s Office reviews the evidence before determining formal charges.
Love recognized the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Jacobs’ situation. “But like I said, we’ll just let it play out,” he stated. “When you hear something like that, there’s a lot of uncertainty about what’s going to happen.”
Although the Packers organization has remained largely quiet on the matter, Love confirmed there have been some internal discussions. “Yes, we talked about it internally,” he commented. “We’ve all been having conversations, but obviously the details are being kept secret out of respect for the situation.”
Despite the tumultuous circumstances, Love remarked on how it feels to have Jacobs back on the practice field, saying, “It’s great to have Josh here with us, working with us and getting back to work. But yeah, we’re all just waiting for it to unfold naturally.”
For now, both Love and the Packers are in a holding pattern, curious about what will come next.
