Jordon Hudson backs Bill Belichick as UNC begins spring practice

Spring has officially made its way to Chapel Hill.

Jordan Hudson shared updates on his Instagram Stories recently, showcasing a media event featuring his partner, Bill Belichick, who’s gearing up for his second season as the head football coach at UNC.

“Back in the fishbowl 🐠 Congratulations on your first spring practice,” the 24-year-old wrote in one post that showed a picture of Belichick, 73, speaking into a microphone.

Hudson later added a close-up shot of Belichick, commenting, “All the Irish media are smiling.”

Belichick, whose first season was quite the ride with a 4-8 record, starts the new season in Dublin, Ireland.

The Tar Heels are set to compete against TCU in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic on August 29, nearly one year after the Horned Frogs trounced the Tar Heels 48-14 in Belichick’s inaugural game.

Hudson, who used to cheer in college, supported Belichick throughout the ups and downs of his first season, which wrapped up in December with the dismissal of offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens and special teams coordinator Mike Priefer, among other staff changes.

The offseason wasn’t much easier for Belichick, highlighted by the surprising news in January—that the celebrated coach was not inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on his first attempt.

This snub prompted a wave of reactions from the football community, including Hudson’s.

Last month, Hudson took to Instagram to share a screenshot of an email revealing that his order for three Hall of Fame patches had been cancelled.

“@profootballhof, what is an ‘unforeseen circumstance’?” he queried in the post.

Despite the setbacks, Belichick, who has been open about his relationship with Hudson since 2024, remains committed to UNC. His plans include integrating four new quarterbacks and working with new offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino.

“I am focused on coaching this team and taking Carolina football to the highest level possible,” Belichick stated, as reported by WRAL News. “I focus on what I can do and not worry about what is out of my control.”
