Despite Bill Belichick’s impressive track record leading the New England Patriots to six Super Bowl victories, his girlfriend, 24-year-old Jordon Hudson, didn’t secure the top spot in the Miss Maine USA Beauty Pageant.
Hudson came in third place this year, a bit of a letdown after her second-place finish last year. The winner, Shelby Powell from Bangor, will represent Maine at Miss USA. Notably, Isabelle Sentsil, the first transgender contestant in the state event, also made it to the top ten.
Reports indicate that Hudson appeared to be handling her performance with some grace, though she was visibly disappointed. According to a New York Post report:
She maintained a bright smile on stage, but her expression dimmed as the results were announced.
After the pageant, she seemed glum while her bodyguard barred reporters from approaching her.
“She wasn’t responding,” the bodyguard commented.
This setback unfolds amidst some controversy surrounding Belichick and Hudson. In a recent interview with CBS News Sunday Morning, Hudson talked about the relationship but deflected questions about how they met.
“We’re not discussing that,” Hudson responded to inquiries about their meeting.
Belichick later claimed that CBS portrayed a “false narrative” with “selectively edited clips,” suggesting Hudson had disrupted the conversation and agreed to an interview about his upcoming memoirs.
“Those expectations weren’t met during the interview. I was caught off guard when unrelated topics came up,” he explained. “After this pattern continued, Jordon, who has both personal and professional ties, reiterated the need to keep the focus on the main topic.”
Following this, CBS News contested Belichick’s assertions, stating there were no restrictions on the interview’s scope, which had been confirmed with his publisher beforehand.
The University of North Carolina reportedly prohibited Hudson from attending practices led by Belichick.
During the Miss Maine USA contest’s question-and-answer phase, Hudson expressed her hopes for viewers going through tough times.
“I wish everyone watching finds the strength to overcome their struggles,” she said. “Hate never wins.”
