Bill Belichick isn't the only one excited about the move to Chapel Hill.
His girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, expressed her own joy at her beau's new job as head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels.
The 24-year-old former cheerleader shared an image on social media Wednesday of Belichick's announcement that he would be taking the head coaching job at UNC.
“We've arrived in Chapel Hill!!!,” she wrote at the end of her Instagram Story, paying homage to Belichick's “Heading to Cincinnati” press conference from 10 years ago.
UNC officially announced Wednesday night that it will hire the six-time Super Bowl champion for the next five years.
“I am excited about the opportunity at UNC-Chapel Hill,” Belichick said in a statement. “I grew up around college football with my dad and cherished that time. I've always wanted to be a coach in college, and now I'm looking forward to building the football program in Chapel Hill. looking forward to it.”
This will be the first time in Belichick's 49-year coaching career that he will patrol the sidelines of a college program.
He led the Patriots for 24 seasons and six Super Bowl championships before the teams went their separate ways after last season.
Hudson and Belichick made headlines in June for their relationship, which includes a 48-year age difference between them.
The couple made their first big red carpet appearance last week at the Museum Gala held at the American Museum of Natural History on Manhattan's Upper West Side.
Hudson also recently posted a photo on Instagram of the two getting in the holiday spirit on Nantucket, Massachusetts.
