Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen recently took his modern California mansion off the market, just a few weeks after his wife passed away. He had shared his excitement about the property earlier with actress Hailee Steinfeld.
At 29, Allen decided to withdraw his long-time bachelor pad from sale on January 7, just days before the Bills were set to face off against the Jacksonville Jaguars in an NFL playoff game.
Before Christmas, he helped the Bills secure a wild-card playoff spot. This decision came shortly after he and Steinfeld announced they were expecting their first child.
On May 31, 2025, at San Ysidro Ranch, the couple reflected on the day with fondness, with Allen describing it as filled with “love and magic.”
A few weeks later, Realtor.com disclosed that the NFL star had listed his four-bedroom, three-bathroom property in Dana Point. It seems he’s moving forward with life as a married man, having purchased the place for $8.5 million.
However, after news of Steinfeld’s pregnancy broke, Allen quickly took the house off the market.
He originally bought the 2,808-square-foot property in 2023 for $7.2 million, working through a trust managed by his financial advisor. It’s believed he enjoyed spending time there during the offseason, relishing the warm California climate after cold Buffalo winters.
The property features a private beach club and is nestled in an upscale, guard-gated community close to several luxury resorts like the Ritz-Carlton.
Characterized as “classic mid-century California architecture,” the home provides “exceptional potential” in a desirable coastal region.
Surrounded by lush greenery, the residence has a sleek white and black exterior and a gated entrance that welcomes visitors.
Inside, guests find an open floor plan with expansive living areas, ceiling-to-floor windows, and a cozy fireplace.
“Large sliding doors enhance the flow between indoor and outdoor living, inviting California sunshine into the space,” the listing notes.
Next to the living room, there’s a stylish dining area, and the kitchen is decked out with top-tier appliances alongside chic white countertops and gray cabinetry.
The primary suite maintains the home’s gray and white theme and is described as a “private retreat” with direct outdoor access, ensuring a seamless indoor-outdoor experience.
The main bathroom has an elegant vanity and a spacious glass shower—three of the four bedrooms come with en suite bathrooms that open to the outdoors.
According to the property listing, “About 12,000 square feet of level land adjoins Monarch Bay Private Park with direct gated access, opening up the potential for a resort-style backyard complete with a pool and spa.”
Residents enjoy exclusive access to the Monarch Bay Beach Club, managed by Waldorf Astoria, which offers beach butler service, coastal dining, and private event spaces, coupled with proximity to world-class golf, hiking, and luxury resorts.
Although Allen was born in Firebaugh, Calif., he spends most of the season in Buffalo but has kept strong ties to Golden State.
In addition, he owns another sizable residence near the Bills’ practice field, bought in 2021 for a mere $500,000. This Orchard Park custom mansion is just eight minutes from Highmark Stadium, featuring a pool, pool house, and sports courts for basketball and tennis.
For Allen, this property is an ideal spot to unwind after his warm-weather stays leading up to preseason training camp in Buffalo. But Steinfeld has also secured properties on the West Coast, including a stunning home in Encino purchased in 2021 for $8 million, which previously belonged to rocker John Fogerty.
Her estate spans 9,000 square feet, encompassing six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, much like Allen’s Buffalo home—with a large pool accessible through electric windows that connect the main living area with the backyard.
If the couple decides to expand their real estate portfolio, California—particularly Malibu, where Allen proposed to Steinfeld in November 2024—might be on their radar.
