Journalist stunned at how ‘ill prepared’ Democrats are to stop Trump: ‘Barely … even slowing him down’

Journalist Mark Halperin expressed shock at the plan that allowed President Donald Trump to bulldoze his agenda through resistance from Democrats.

Halperin commented on the “2way” podcast.

“There are no Democrats anywhere on the scene, there are no press anywhere on the scene, the Liberals are nowhere on the scene, and the reasons why they get so sick will ultimately be studied. ”

“I'm paid to not be confused or to be speechless. It was my job. I'm confused and somewhat speechless. I've been thinking about it for the past few days. I'm not a word. Would you like to compare it to this?

He went on to say he has never seen anything like Trump's second-generation move.

“I think this is extraordinarily singular. I think we're talking about it covering a very small percentage of what's actually happening,” he continued. “This is a unique presidency for so many reasons, and now we see its manifestation. It's like the first president in some respects. He has a much greater energy. , momentum, newness, and rested staff.

“He's gone through. He knows more about how to do his job and what he wants. [he] There was also four years of offs where he was not sitting in court or being shot. He had plenty of time to think about how he wanted this job to be done and how he would enact a revolution,” Halperin continued.

“And all the arcs of personality and historical narratives are, of course, very persuasive,” he added. “But what's important is the real lives of real people, and this is the impact that it will have on American government and the world as well as on American history.”

Halperin said Trump's success was “a joke” when comparing the Reagan Revolution, and was much deeper than George W. Bush's. Halperin also made a sport analogy to explain how fast Trump can leave his opponent to dust.

“There's no comparison. What are they doing… because this is open field running,” he said. “Democrats are nowhere on the ground, press is nowhere on the ground, liberal interest groups are nowhere on the ground.

“Forget to stop him. They're barely exceptionally slowing him down.”

Trump's agenda has been hampered by many lawsuits, but his administration has shown a willingness to fight in court, particularly in the conservative US Supreme Court.

Halperin was fired from NBC News in 2017 after five women accused him of sexual harassment.
