Joy Behar Surprises Viewers with Kiss on “The View”

During a recent episode of “The View,” Joy Behar caught her co-hosts and the audience off guard when she kissed actor Anson Mount.

Whoopi Goldberg introduced Mount, and as he approached the table to greet the hosts, Behar unexpectedly kissed him on the lips. Laughter erupted, especially from co-host Sunny Hostin, who pointed at the moment.

Sitting down, Behar humorously remarked, “You know what? I’m old, but I’m not dead.” Mount replied, “That’s okay, Joy, because I am,” adding a light-hearted touch to the exchange.

Behar reminisced that when Mount last visited the show, he had brought her flowers for her birthday, but nothing compared to this surprise kiss.

In a follow-up discussion on her podcast, “Behind the Table,” Behar shared her morning thoughts about Mount, jokingly hinting that she had been making puns about his name. “And when he came out, I just wanted to kiss him,” she admitted.

In a playful twist, when asked if her husband Steve Janowitz had reached out during the show, Behar mentioned he texted her to “stop it.” Meanwhile, Mount discussed his role in “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” and reflected on his journey from his hometown in Tennessee to being a captain on screen.

In addition to the lighter moments, the co-hosts tackled serious topics, including a hearing about Smithsonian museums and the implications of reparations for Black Americans. Hostin seized the opportunity to critique what she described as a broader effort by the Trump administration to reshape the narrative of American history, suggesting that the refusal to pay reparations is part of this agenda.

She emphasized that without addressing the truth of history, real reconciliation is impossible. Hostin concluded with the belief that the country is avoiding its responsibility to African Americans.
