Joy Behar Praises Rep. Thomas Massey for Stance on Epstein Files
Joy Behar, a co-host of ABC’s “The View,” recently commended Rep. Thomas Massey (R-Ky.) for his willingness to stand against the Trump administration.
“He’s a Republican you can actually admire right now,” Behar remarked to the audience.
This conversation stemmed from Massey’s push for the release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, a figure infamous for being a convicted sex offender who trafficked minors.
On the same day, Massey criticized the Republican Party for pushing new legislation concerning Washington, D.C., while not prioritizing the release of Epstein-related documents.
“Tonight, Congress will vote on a measure that would allow minors aged 16 to 14 to be prosecuted as adults in D.C.,” Massey shared in a post. On Tuesday.
“Let’s clarify this: Congress wants to charge 14-year-olds as adults, but don’t we need to charge the adult who abuses a 14-year-old? Let’s release the Epstein files,” he continued.
In response, President Trump criticized Massey and suggested that another Republican should challenge him in the primaries.
“Rep. Thomas Massey of Kentucky, a state I’ve won three times, keeps talking about constitutional protections. But he’s actually detrimental to it and likely opposes the ‘great, big, beautiful bill’,” Trump wrote in a post back in June.
Despite this, Massey remains publicly critical of the president, insinuating that recent political discourse has become more hostile following violent incidents involving Democrats and conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
“There’s a lot of heated rhetoric out there. Even the president has been part of it. He described co-hosting Epstein’s resolution as an adversarial act,” Massey noted, as a strong advocate for releasing the documents linked to Epstein. “I think that’s just ridiculous rhetoric.”
“It’s amusing,” he added. “It doesn’t particularly bother me that he’s escalating things, but some people take it to heart. Maybe he should reflect on his own words.”
