Juan Soto was all smiles as he wore the latest pinstripes in New York.
The New York Mets' newest superstar was introduced to the media and expressed his excitement about the team's future, World Series aspirations, and more.
But while Mets fans are overjoyed by the $765 million man, New York Yankees fans remain bitter, and the sight of Soto, the Mets' No. More likely to be oiled.

During a media scrum, Soto was asked if he had a message for Yankees fans hoping to return on a similar deal to the Mets.
“I want to express my gratitude to them,” Soto said via SNY. “They really showed me all their love and everything last year. They were there every day. At the end of the day, they really stay in my heart. It was tough not being able to put together a united effort.'' Coming back and things like that, I'll definitely be grateful for what they did for me in 2024. ”
That may not be the answer Yankees fans want, but Soto at least acknowledges what they did for him in 2024.

Fans chanted “Re-sign Soto!” to the right fielder. With chants at every game and fake blank checks brought into the stadium, Soto statistically had a career year and helped the Yankees return to the World Series.
The love that Yankees fans had for Soto was obvious, and they wanted him to sign a long-term contract.
However, the Mets outbid the Yankees, who reportedly had a 16-year contract worth $760 million. Soto chose to go across town to Queens.

Soto said in a press conference that he hasn't spoken to any of his Yankees teammates since the World Series loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
When asked about choosing the Mets over the Yankees, he added, “I think we have the best chance to win.''
