Judge counters Dobbins' Yankees remark with home runs in Red Sox victory

Judge Aaron discussed rookie Hunter Dobbins of the Boston Red Sox and his take on the New York Yankees during a recent game. Instead of diving into the chatter himself, he let Batt speak on it Sunday night. Just before the game, Dobbins expressed to the Boston Herald that he would rather retire than sign with the Yankees, which, according to the judge, stemmed from the influence of his father, a dedicated Red Sox fan. He admitted to being a bit surprised by Dobbins’ comments.

The judge didn’t waste time making an impact. He launched a two-run homer off a 97 mph fastball, sending the ball 436 feet into right-center field. The crowd at Yankee Stadium could feel the weight of the rookie’s words, which had captured national attention. The judge mentioned he was taken aback by Dobbins’ remark, notably commenting on Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr.

Despite allowing those two runs early on, Dobbins performed well afterward against the Yankees. Over five innings, he gave up only four hits and managed to limit the damage to just one more run.

Boston’s offense showed some spark during the rivalry match, with Christian Campbell hitting a two-run homer in the fifth inning. Just the following inning, Carlos Narvaez added to the score by hitting a three-run shot, giving the Red Sox a solid lead. In the end, they clinched the game, finishing 11-7 and taking the first series of two. The judge, however, delivered a strong performance himself, finishing with four hits, four runs, and four RBIs.

Though the Yankees lost that weekend, they still held onto the top spot in their division with a record of 39-25. Meanwhile, the Red Sox seem to have gained momentum, beating one of the top teams in the league. They are currently 32-35 and are set to face New York again soon at Fenway Park.

Dobbins is anticipated to pitch against the Yankees for his next start.
