Cowlitz County Superior Court Judge Gary Bashor ruled Monday that Washington state’s ban on “high-capacity” magazines violates both the U.S. Constitution and the state’s own constitution.

On Monday, he issued an immediate injunction against enforcement of the “high-capacity” magazine ban, blocking enforcement of the law.
However, Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson immediately appealed Bashor’s decision to the state Supreme Court, which issued an emergency stay order allowing the ban to remain in effect pending the appeal. .
