A Georgia judge must force embattled Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to either drop her case against former President Donald Trump or fire special prosecutor Nathan Wade. The court ruled that it should not.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee issued the ruling after hearing evidence presented by attorneys for co-defendants in a massive 2020 election interference case. Four co-defendants accused Willis of having an “improper” relationship with Nathan Wade, whom they hired to prosecute the case.

The co-defendants argued that Willis benefited financially from hiring Wade because they were already in a relationship when he hired him in 2021 and they planned to vacation together.

Both Wade and Willis denied that they were in a romantic relationship before hiring Wade and that they planned to split the cost of their joint trip. Mr. Willis said he reimbursed Mr. Wade for a portion of his travel expenses in cash.

Willis and Wade both claimed their relationship began in 2022, after Wade was hired. But they contradict testimony from Robin Yearty, a former “good friend” of Willis and a former employee of the DA’s office.
