Julian Holloway, Carry On star and father of Sophie Dahl, dies aged 80 | Movies

Julian Holloway, who appeared in eight carry-on films and was a regular on television shows such as Sweeney and Doctor Who, has passed away. He was 80 years old.

In a statement to the Guardian, the actor's agent confirmed that Holloway died on February 16th at Bournemouth Hospital after a brief illness.

The actor, son of my fair lady star Stanley Holloway, was a comedy staple that wore comedies throughout its most popular days, featuring in films such as Camping-on Camp and Carry-Up Kyber.

Born in 1944, Holloway joined RADA before building a career with the sitcom Our Man Higgins in 1962. He appeared alongside Carry on Films' Kenneth Williams and Charles Hautley, along with guests such as Sweeney, Oridge and others.

Superman actor Sarah Douglas, who first worked with Holloway in the 1970s, called him “the most resourceful man… he was a thick and thin friend.”

Later in his life, Holloway moved to the United States and built a successful career as a voice actor, including 55 out of 65 episodes of James Bond Jr., an American animation show based on the James Bond franchise.

He also voiced the father of Pride in 2004, Sheekfried Fishbacher, and Prime Minister Almec has voiced him in several episodes of the long-running show Star Wars: The Clone Wars. did.

Holloway was model father and author Sophie Dahl following his relationship with his mother, Tessa Dahl in 1976.
