Justin Timberlake was ordered to do community service on Friday after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor drunk driving case in the Hamptons.
The 43-year-old “Sexy Back” singer pleaded guilty Friday morning in Sag Harbor Village Court to the lesser charge of driving while intoxicated, rather than the more serious charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Judge Carl Eileis sentenced the pop star to community service and said he must make a public statement, which Timberlake was scheduled to read shortly after the trial on Friday.
Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney argued that the NSYNC star did not receive special treatment, noting that this is a plea that has been pleaded in other cases.
Timberlake was pulled over by police in the early hours of June 18 for running a stop sign and drifting out of his lane, after which he allegedly refused three Breathalyzer tests.
