Kai Trump, the granddaughter of Donald Trump’s eldest son, announced her decision to play golf at the University of Miami on Sunday.
Don Jr. and Vanessa’s daughter, Kai, said she was “very excited” to announce the decision.
“I’d like to thank my mom, Vanessa, and my dad, Don, for always being supportive on my journey. I’d also like to thank the incredible team that’s helped get me to this point,” she said. wrote on Instagram.

The 17-year-old knows she’s had the chance to play on some once-in-a-lifetime golf courses throughout her young career, and she has her grandfather to thank for that.
“I want to thank my grandfather for giving me the opportunity to take such a great course and for his tremendous support,” she wrote.
“I would also like to thank my entire family for always encouraging me and pushing me to be the best person I can be. I would like to thank my friends for always cheering me on. Finally, I would like to thank Coach Janice and Coach Jim for giving me this opportunity. [sic] I am excited to represent Miami University with the Canes. Go Canes!”
Kai Trump became a huge hit at the Republican National Convention after her father said he wanted her to speak shortly after the assassination attempt on her grandfather.

“My dad calls me during class and asks how my golf game is going and he tells me all about his golf game and I have to tell him I’m at school and he’ll have to call me back later,” Trump’s granddaughter told a raucous crowd in Milwaukee.
“I was shocked to hear he’d been shot on Saturday and just wanted to know if he was OK,” she said of the events following the assassination attempt on the former president.
“A lot of people put my grandpa through hell but he still gets up,” the teenager added.
“Grandpa, you are such an inspiration. I love you,” Kai said. “The media portrays my grandpa as someone he’s not, but I know the real him. He’s a very caring and loving person who truly wants the best for this country and will fight every day to Make America Great Again. Thank you so much.”

Kai took to Instagram to pay tribute to his grandfather’s unwavering will to fight the US political system for his people: “Grandpa, we love you. Never stop fighting!” he wrote.
