Kai Trump recently provided an update about his mother, Vanessa Trump, following her surgery as she continues to fight breast cancer.
“My mom is fine,” the 19-year-old said during a red carpet appearance at the 2026 ESPY Awards held at Lincoln Center in New York City Wednesday.
She also mentioned, “Her condition is improving.”
Kai appeared optimistic, smiling while discussing her mother, who is 48 years old, amidst the glitz of the event.
Having just graduated high school, she’s set to attend the University of Miami this fall, where she plans to play golf on the women’s varsity team. For the occasion, she wore a striking gold dress with a high slit, complemented by matching heels, a gold cuff, a watch, a diamond necklace, and drop earrings.
Back in May, Vanessa shared with her followers on Instagram that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. “This is not the news anyone expected, but I am working closely with my medical team to develop a treatment plan,” she wrote. “I remain focused and hopeful, surrounded by the love and support of my family, children, and those closest to me.”
A few weeks after her announcement, Vanessa was spotted smiling and looking composed while shopping with Kai in West Palm Beach, Florida.
In a follow-up post the next month, she informed everyone that she was recovering after undergoing surgery. “For the past four weeks, I have been recovering from surgery and am grateful to be healing and moving forward,” she shared. “Soon we will begin the second phase of treatment,” she noted, although she didn’t specify what that meant.
An exclusive report indicated that her boyfriend, Tiger Woods—whom she began dating in early 2025—has been a strong support for her. “He’s focused on being her rock,” a source said. “He’s proud of how positive she remains and how she’s handling everything so far. He truly believes she’s going to be okay because she is so strong. He’s just trying to support her in any way he can.”
