Kaley Cuoco Stands Firm in Her Parenting Choices
Kaley Cuoco, known for her role in *The Big Bang Theory*, is unapologetic about her parenting approach. In a recent episode of the podcast “Armchair Expert,” host Dax Shepard complimented her carefree attitude toward outside opinions on how she raises her daughter, Matilda. Cuoco shared that she’s heard everything—from praise to criticism—but it ultimately doesn’t faze her.
“It really doesn’t matter. I don’t care,” she said, emphasizing that whether people take issue with giving her young child an iPad is not something that concerns her. “I’ve been made fun of. I’ve been loved. It’s just part of my life.”
Cuoco, who is engaged to Tom Pelphrey, has faced backlash in the past regarding her decision to allow her then-infant daughter some screen time. She recalls how harsh some reactions were when she mentioned Matilda could watch movies or TV shows. “I’m like, ‘Calm down, this is important, calm down,'” she responded to the critics.
Shepard noted that he respects how Cuoco handles the scrutiny that comes with being a parent in the public eye. He pointed out that there’s a growing trend of parents shaming each other’s choices. “Oh, this person is in big trouble,” he joked, referencing how straightforward Cuoco is about her tactics.
Cuoco further explained that she never dictates to other parents how they should raise their children. Sometimes, she feels pressure to defend her choices, saying, “What am I trying to tell you?” She emphasized that parenting is not a one-size-fits-all journey.
Shepard added his own humorous take on parenting, recounting a time he felt guilt over not bathing his children regularly. He admitted it was just the reality of his situation, possibly sharing a laugh about it all.
Cuoco, who jokes about how her little one is a major fan of movies and TV, mused that it seems inevitable Matilda will follow in the family’s artistic footsteps, but she’s not certain about it. “I don’t understand why this kid doesn’t become an actress,” she commented, hinting at the family’s connection to the entertainment world.
