Sen. Mark Wayne Marin Talks CBS Interview Editing
During an appearance on FNC’s “Hannity” on Tuesday, Sen. Mark Wayne Marin (R-OK) discussed CBS’s editing of an interview featuring Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem that aired on Sunday’s “Face the Nation.” He suggested that the network had seemingly altered the interview’s content.
Marin compared the situation to a similar incident involving then-Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris in 2024 and expressed skepticism that CBS had learned anything from that experience.
Excerpt from the interview:
Hannity: Let’s start with Kristi Noem. You’d think CBS would have learned from past mistakes and avoided editing out critical details in interviews.
So, is it only possible to trust live CBS interviews? I hope they don’t shorten those; they should air them in full.
Mullin: I figured this out a long time ago with these liberal media outlets. If it’s not live, you can’t trust it. Noem is tough and a good friend of mine and my family.
They picked the wrong person to edit, thinking she wouldn’t stand her ground. It’s no surprise they resort to this kind of editing.
Hannity: CBS?
Mullin: Yes, they still amaze me. It’s surprising they keep doing this.
Hannity: CBS wanted so badly to get me on “60 Minutes.” Many people would love that. And I told them, “I only want to do a live interview, I can’t be on tape.”
What is the plan here—
Marine: Exactly.
Hannity: They’ll just tape you for hours, then piece together a narrative that may be completely off.
Ted Koppel did this to me once, right here. He interviewed me for an hour, and you would think it’s detrimental for America. I shared my take on it.
What they present is what they deem harmful for America. It’s akin to deceptive editing, showcasing bias.
Marine: Look at what they did with Kamala Harris’s interview. You’d think they’d have learned their lesson after President Trump sued them and prevailed. Yet, they continue to present slanted stories—no longer reporting accurately.
This is why platforms like Fox are important; we can actually get real news instead of the biased narratives that CBS and other left-leaning media push. This is how we can grasp what’s really going on politically.
It’s hypocritical, showcasing just how inconsistent they are with officials like Kristi Noem. And when called out, what do they offer? Nothing.
They appear set to repeat the same tactics used during the presidential election regarding Kamala Harris, now under the influence of left-wing extremists, and it’s unlikely to change.
